The waters are also protected by the National Park due to the bounty of life on the reefs and the large pelagic fish which can be seen here.
The numerous small islands that can be visited and dived give liveaboard Divers here the advantage of being able to take in a hugely diverse number of sites on the different islands. These small islands are quite far flung and off the well-dived path making for some unique experiences.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The vessel is a magnificent Dutch schooner and is now a showcase classical yacht with impeccable standards. Sailing the Underwater World between Bali and Komodo year round, Adelaar caters to today’s discerning traveler, who expects the best in small group luxury sailing and diving. The SY Adelaar is 125 feet (38m) long and 18 feet (5.5m) wide. The SY Adelaar aims to provide the best there is in terms of diving and leisure activities, without sacrificing any of the comforts and luxury you would expect to get from a 5 Star hotel on land.
The SY Adelaar was crafted in 1902 and underwent a total overhaul in 2009. Our liveaboard comfortably accommodates up to eight guests, in 4 double Staterooms that are exquisitely furnished. The rich teak interior, high ceilings, air conditioning, intricate Persian rugs and marble en-suite bathrooms give the feeling of elegance.
Available in all cabins, as well as in the Salon & Dining area are flat screen TV’s connected to the ship’s video and audio streaming system with access to more than 3,000 movies and 30,000 songs, if you should crave any entertainment.
You’ll be treated in true Indonesian hospitality where guests always remain guests.
Sit back and relax, enjoy a delectable array of our on board cuisine, prepared fresh each day, by our Balinese Cooks. Sunsets always seem to be special at sea and every night as the sun drops below the horizon you can reflect at the end of a day of diving in this beautiful destination.
In regard to the dive sites, the SY Adelaar's itineraries are perfectly timed so the sites can be explored at the optimal time of year. Compared to other liveaboards this boat is different because it boasts beautiful accommodation and World-class service.
The water in Komodo's dive spots is turquoise and crystal clear, with visibility often at 30-40m. Then after all the diving is done, sit back and relax at the Bar, enjoy a cool drink, some great food or enjoy the fabulous views from the Sundeck.
Food as one of the basic human needs plays a crucial role in any dive holiday
In order to ensure that the guests have the experience of a lifetime, absolute love for detail was the SY Adelaar's guiding principle that influenced the construction of the boat, the itineraries and the composition of the food menu.
After all, a relaxing meal prepared with care and style is the best way to remain full of energy for the next dive! Rather than the standard liveaboard food, you will be offered a choice from its fine cuisine. With a sophisticated twist on the contemporary flavors of Indonesia - everything tastes wonderful. There is also plenty vegetarian food to choose from. Tasty snacks or home-made cakes are served each afternoon. Then you choose - Night Dive or Cocktail Hour!
