Details

Sailing with Avalon Fleet, the powerful Halcón offers year-round trips to Cuba’s pristine Jardines de la Reina Marine Park.

Diving aboard the liveaboard Halcon will take you to the magnificent Jardines de la Reina or Gardens of the Queen, in English.  The liveaboard Halcon is a smaller but cozy vessel sporting a Lounge, Sun Deck and Open Air Dining Area to give you the real Cuban liveaboard feeling.

Due to decades of conservation, Jardines de la Reina gives divers the best shark diving in the region.

You will also find untouched Reefs, territorial Groupers and mighty Crocodiles with whom you can snorkel to ensure you never forget your trip to this Cuban Marine Park. Halcon is part of the liveaboard Avalon Fleet, the most experienced liveaboard operator in Cuba and therefore you will be accompanied by Professional and Experienced Guides on your trips.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The liveaboard 75-foot Halcón is just a little bit larger than the smallest yacht in the liveaboard Avalon Fleet. She was recently refurbished but still maintains her traditional 70’s style. The liveaboard Halcón departs year-round from the Cuban port of Jucaro. All the 6-night adventures to the Gardens of the Queen begin on Saturdays. The liveaboard Halcón sports a large air-conditioned Lounge with comfortable couches. The wide bow of the boat makes a spacious Sundeck and on the Upper Deck, the Captain’s Bridge features a balcony for some nice panoramic views.

The liveaboard Halcón can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins. Each liveaboard cabin includes ample storage, comfy beds for two people and air conditioning. There are 4 cabins equipped with 2 Single beds and 2 cabins with 1 Queen-size bed. All guests share the 3 onboard bathrooms complete with hot water showers.

The liveaboard Halcón is perfectly suited to help divers enjoy the non-diving hours

The large, air-conditioned lounge provides a central meeting point for guests. A TV, DVD-player and sound system provide ample entertainment. It is also possible to share photos and videos of the day’s dives on the TV.  The liveaboard crew is available during the evening hours to discuss the next day’s dives or enjoy a fresh Mojito under the bright Caribbean stars.

The crew on the liveaboard Halcón knows that good food is the key to good diving

The skilled Chef will serve fresh Seafood alongside traditional Cuban fare and Continental Italian dishes. Expect to be spoiled by abundant fresh lobster. Dessert doesn’t disappoint either. Rum cake and Cuban pudding are sure to make your mouth water. Snacks and bottled mineral water, sparkling and tonic water, various soft drinks, juices, beers, rums, whisky and excellent wines (6 beverages/day included in the package). Soft drinks, fresh juices, alcohol, beer and wine are available for purchase on board. A variety of Kosher and Vegetarian dishes can be served given advance notice on this liveaboard.
